這是去年11月,因洽公前往舊市府時,當時所留下的sketchup旅行紀錄,但突然發現這個古蹟,現階段換成環保局在使用,個人覺得此處蠻適合文化局相關單位來使用的,這是我個人的想法啦!而台中州廳建築風格在主棟部份為第二帝國風格、馬薩式頂、U字型平面之二層樓高加強磚造建築物，附屬建築群中以二層樓高鋼衍架加強磚造之兵役局/中山廳最具有代表性，另在南側有一層樓磚造廳舍，亦為日治時期建築。這處屬於台中舊市區,蠻靠近台中火車站與台中公園的,也是屬於國外旅客必到的觀光景點,這是洽公時,也看到許多日本遊客到此處一遊,而中區現在也有許多日本時代留下的建築,每一處都真的能讓人好好享受歷史之旅!值得來看看囉!

臺中市政府原為日治時期之臺中州廳,興建於1913年(大正2年)2月,至1924年(大正13年)2月才完工,由日人森山松助之設計。臺中州廳管轄現今臺中 縣市、彰化縣及南投縣等地,臺中市役所才是當時臺中市政府。光復後,市政府遷入現址辦公至今。
臺中州廳的設計者森山松之助畢業於日本帝國大學,受嚴謹的古典建築訓練。1907年來到臺灣,擔任總督府營繕課技師,任內完成包括臺北州廳(監察院)、臺南州廳(今文化資產保存研究中心)及臺中州廳等重要殖民地官方建築設計。
建築物整體設計是仿法國馬薩風格；正立面具有明顯的『馬薩』是屋頂。(採用法國建築師馬薩氏發明的上緩下徒之兩折式屋頂,屋頂所佔比例較大,配上各式老虎窗特別搶眼)。建築正面向東,各翼各以四十五度左右伸展成列設辦公室。中央有塔狀物突出建築,正立面左右各段『角樓』用以完整銜接兩翼建築物。
二樓設廊柱加『牛眼窗』,一樓則是入口玄關和拱圈。入如玄關有『多立克柱式』(Doric)和假石的結構柱,上方三面見有破山牆及勳章花草裝飾,上方以圓頂修建覆蓋；二樓採『愛奧尼克柱式(IonicOrder)』,退縮的陽臺強化立面的陰影效果。
臺中州廳建築為突顯其政治上的位階與都市中的重要性,並配合臺中市街計劃,將入口設於重要街廊的轉角處,是日治時期官廳建築的重要特徵。
Taichung City Government Office of the former Japanese colonial period, Taichung, built in 1913 (Taisho 2) February 1924 (Taisho 13), February and completed by Japanese Moriyama Song help design. Taichung Office of the jurisdiction of the present counties of Taichung, Changhua County and Nantou County, Taichung City Hall is the time the Taichung City Government. After the retrocession of Taiwan, the city government moved to that a present site office so far.
The designers of the Office of Taichung Moriyama Matsunosuke graduated from the Japanese Imperial University, and by the rigorous classical architecture training. 1907 came to Taiwan, as the Government House Construction and Maintenance Office Technician completed his term of office including the Taipei Office of the State (the Control Yuan), Tainan Province Hall (now the Cultural Assets Preservation Research Center) and the Taichung Hall and other important colonial official buildings.
The overall design of buildings is an imitation of French style Massa; facade "Massa" is the roof. (French architect Massa's invention on the slow only two folding roof, the roof in large proportion, accompanied by all kinds of dormer windows particularly eye-catching). Facade to east, each wing of each stretch about 45 degrees into the Office of the column set. The central tower bar prominent building, the facade about the "turret" to a complete convergence of the two wings of buildings.
The second floor set up the pillars to add a "bull's-eye windows, first floor is the entrance porch and arch. In such entrance "Doric" (Doric) and false structure of the stone column, the top three sides see the broken gable, and the Medal of flowers and decoration, the top of the dome built to cover; on the second floor mining Ionic column (IonicOrder) "back down the balcony to strengthen the shadow effect of the facade.
Taichung State Hall building to highlight the political level and the city's importance, and with the Taichung City street plan, the inlet located at the corner of the Galleria, is an important feature of the Japanese colonial period Guanting building.
