西門紅樓位於台北市萬華區的成都路上，緊鄰西門町徒步區。這棟兩層高的三級古蹟紅磚洋樓為1908年所建，該古蹟建築最獨特之處，是其外觀為每正立面8公尺。也因此，該建物於日治時期通常被稱為八角堂。八角堂主建築體後面連接著的是十字型外觀的一樓磚造樓房，而結構不太相似的這兩棟建物合稱西門市場，紅樓則為市場入口。日治晚期，該市場範圍拓展到周圍成都路，西寧南路，內江街圍成的梯形區域，並維持此一格局至今。戰後，接收八角堂的滬商業者因建築的紅磚外觀，改名為「紅樓劇場」，1963年後，紅樓劇場改映電影，因此又被稱為「紅樓戲院」或簡稱「紅樓」。1997年，台灣內政部將紅樓列入第三級古蹟，定名為西門紅樓。
Red House Theater,Taipei Taiwan/The Red House Theater (紅樓劇場), often called the Red Theater or Red Play House in English, is a historic theater in the Ximending area of Taipei, Taiwan. Built in 1908 during Japanese rule and designed by Japanese architect Kondo Juro, it was originally a market building but was used as a theater from 1945 onwards. The building recently underwent an extensive renovation. The ground floor currently houses a small cafe and a display on the history of the structure, as well as several shops in which independent artists sell their art. The second floor theater regularly hosts live performances. The theater is located at 10 Chengdu Road, Taipei.
